One of the questions we get asked most often is which Estonian bank will
actually open an account for a newcomer. The answer seems to depend a lot
on your residence status, your employer, and sometimes just which branch
you walk into.

We are putting together a practical page on this, and we would rather base
it on real experiences than on what the banks say on their websites.

If you have opened (or tried to open) an account here, could you share:
- Which bank, and roughly when
- Your status at the time (employed / e-resident / student / family visa)
- What they asked you for, and how long it took

We will keep this thread updated as a summary. Corrections welcome — rules
